    Description

1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Project car. Condition is "Used". We have sold our house and moving out of state so this must go! I have reassembled the car for sale rather than have a "basket case" for the next owner to have to sort through and figure out. Runs and drives but tires too old for safe service. Owned this car since Christmas of 1984 with intention of building a "street machine" long before "Restomod" became the catch phrase for fun cars meant to be driven. But never found the time necessary to finish it. Most everything has been rebuilt at one time or another with very few miles accumulated. Body definitely needs quarters due to the normal Fisher body rot around the wheel wells. Trunk floor pinholes repaired with POR-15 kit. New partial quarters and full trunk floor panels included with sale. Other body work needed depends on the new buyer's desire for a perfect car. Only thing significant missing that I know of is the back up lamp/steering column interlock bellcrank and linkage. ALL RS TRIM present and mostly genuine GM. Body in Black epoxy DTM primer to help preserve it for the next restoration phases.
-ENGINE: First run steel crank 327 bored .030 over and fitted with TRW forged pistons/moly rings, stainless valves, performance springs, Comp magnum steel rockers, ARP main studs, mild Crane cam, Clevite 77 bearings, Cloyes roller timing chain, TRW moly pushrods, and more! Holley carb fitted with electric choke kit. Engine exhaust system recently replaced with Pypes all stainless F-Body single muffler kit and optional stainless tailpipes exiting under rear bumper correct for '69. Junk stock clamps all replaced with heavy stainless band clamps for better seal and less pipe damage. Cowl induction system fully functional and complete. Two piece rear main seal is unfortunately getting tired and leaks nominally.
-TRANSMISSION: Muncie M-21 close ratio, 10 spline input with single groove. Rebuilt with all new bearings, thrust washers, brass syncros, and seals. Lakewood scattershield and Raybestos clutch. Hurst competition plus shifter kit installed. Corvette clutch fork with custom made push rods to Zee bar. Clutch safety switch even works!
-REAR AXLE: 12 bolt posi traction carrier rebulit with new GM clutch packs/shims, pinion crush sleeve, and USA Bower BCA bearings. New Zoom ring and pinion in 3:73 ratio.
-BRAKES: Power disc Delco Morraine 4 puck fixed caliper front spindles and system donated from '68 RS/SS Big Block car. Calipers stainless steel sleeved and fitted with Vette Brake's o-ring conversion pistons and seals. Solves Delco's design blunder with the flat seals leaking. Stainless steel lines, new hoses, and rear drum brakes replaced with all USA made Raybestos parts. New 1 1/8 bore master cylinder less than a year ago. Metering valve resealed with kit. New brake discs and wheel bearings.
-STEERING: Slow factory box upgraded to quick ratio Saginaw sector from a '74 Type LT. Thick wood grip, three spoke Grant steering wheel with Grant exclusive quick-detaching wheel security system.
-SUSPENSION: All bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, and drag link replaced with USA made TRW/MOOG components. This done many years ago so rubber condition now uncertain. New Addco front and and rear sway bar kits added with Energy poly bushings/endlinks. Front springs replaced and rear multi-leaf springs re-arced.
-AUDIO SYSTEM: Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) CD head unit and amp. Deck has 3mm aux input in panel for media and nice wireless remote. USA made Boston Acoustics component speaker systems front and rear. Speakers all removed and rebuilt a two years ago with new Speaker Works rubber or foam surrounds as applicable. 1" ferro fluid tweeters front/rear produce clean high notes. Hirschmann power aerial mounted in rear quarter. Extra stainless weave cable grounds added to engine compartment and unibody to eliminate noise. Power conductor for rear amp fully shielded along with heavy shielded RCA outputs from deck to amp.
-ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: Charging system upgraded to 105 Amp internal regulator alternator and Factory HEI distributor fitted for ignition. Hayden electric cooling fan for radiator. Factory gauges added to stock console. New rear light harness. Heavy 2 gauge battery cables. RS headlamp door system still vacuum as original and works! Headlamps are German made Hella dual beam units with replaceable H4 lamps.
-INTERIOR: Front seat covers and carpet replaced many years ago but those aftermarket items growing tired again.
Many, many more items replaced over the years to list here. Overall the condition is good for a 50+ year old car. Vehicle has lifetime state of Alabama antique automobile registration. No title is required in Alabama or Georgia for antiques so being sold with bill of sale plus almost all registration receipts in my name leading to permanent lifetime status record. Car is free and clear. Happy bidding and I hope this car goes to another enthusiast's good home!
