This 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was acquired by the seller in 2017, and subsequent refurbishment work included a repaint in blue with white stripes, an interior overhaul with black vinyl upholstery, and the installation of a 6.0-liter LQ9 Vortec V8 along with replacement 6.2 LS-spec cylinder heads, an LS3 intake manifold, a Texas Speed Stage 4 camshaft, and long-tube headers with a 2.5? dual exhaust system. Additional equipment includes a refurbished Borg-Warner Super T-10 four-speed transmission, a hydraulic clutch setup, and a Chevrolet 8.5? 10-bolt rear axle with a 3.42:1 limited-slip differential. Reported refurbishment work completed under current ownership also included a suspension overhaul and the installation of four-wheel disc brakes. This Camaro is now offered with a reprinted assembly manual and a "Rebuilt" title.
The body was refinished in blue with white hood and trunk stripes following metal repairs and bodywork completed in 2018. Refurbishment work reportedly included replacement of the taillights, front fenders, hood, door skins, left quarter panel, rear body panel, right rocker panel, and most of the floor pan. Features include front and rear spoilers, a cowl-induction hood, fender vents, and aftermarket headlights with LED halos. Paint chips and blemishes in the trim are documented in the photo gallery below.
American Racing 15? wheels are wrapped Starfire RS-C 2.0 tires up front and Kenda Kenetica tires out back. Refurbishment work completed under current ownership is said to have included replacement of the ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, sway bar links, and springs along with the installation of four-wheel disc brakes with a replacement master cylinder, brake lines, slotted and drilled front rotors, and 2? drop spindles.
Interior refurbishment work under current ownership reportedly included the installation of replacement black vinyl upholstery on the seats as well as a replacement headliner, carpets, dash overlay, package tray, and center console. Sound deadening material is installed on the floors, and the car is equipped with air conditioning and a tilt steering column. Additional work under current ownership included the replacement of the power window motors and installation of a Pioneer AM/FM/CD Stereo.
The four-spoke Grant GT steering wheel frames white gauges including a 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 6.0-liter LQ9 Vortec V8 was reportedly sourced from a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, and it has been fitted with replacement 6.2-liter cylinder heads, an LS3 intake manifold, a Texas Speed stage 4 camshaft, and long tube exhaust headers with a 2.5? dual exhaust system. Additional work during refurbishment included the installation of Dirty Dingo accessory brackets and a polished air intake tube as well as the replacement of the alternator, radiator, and air conditioning compressor and condenser.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a refurbished Borg-Warner Super T-10 four-speed transmission, a hydraulic clutch assembly, and an 8.5? 10-bolt rear axle with a 3.42:1 limited-slip differential.
