    Description

For your consideration I present a Splendid Original Condition Maryland 5th Regiment National Guard 1890s Era Frock Coat
with a "New York Clothing House, Baltimore" label.
This Regiment was known in the period as "The Dandy 5th".
This example comes from Company B of the 5th Regiment as indicated by the Shoulder Straps.
Outside of the offerings from my collection, a better example will be difficult to find.
That said, I do have one other similar, nearly identical, and nearly perfect example of this Uniform and will list it shortly.  It is from Company L of the 5th Maryland Regiment.
    All Buttons are
    "N.Y. Clothing House, Balt'o, MD"
back mark, Matching Originals, and Present.
No Stains, No Tears, No Insect Damage.
The only defects are about 3"-4" of missing threading on the Right Rear Sleeve to Shoulder seam and similar loose threading on the sleeve to body area of the interior...easily refastened.
Otherwise no damage.  Exemplary Condition as noted.
One might find another example for a bit less, but not in the same condition.
There is an appropriate set of grey trousers with a wide black leg stripe of the same period which is available in another of my listings.
As always, your reasonable offer is welcome and will be seriously considered.
    Thank you.
