Indian Wars U.S. M1872 Hat "Shako" Quartermaster Department

United States Indian Wars M1872 Hat "Shako" Quartermaster Department. Regular Army. I believe this is a rare hat. I've personally never come across another Shako with this particular insignia. Literally pulled straight from the attic. The hat has a really neat Quartermaster Dept. insignia on the front and a couple of nice crossed rifles infantry side disc. All still firmly attached.The outside is in good condition. With a little leather dressing it could be even better.
The brim is detached in the center. Unfortunately
the inside is toast. It's very dry from the unstable temperature conditions in the attic. The liner has shattered and dissolved as did the sweatband. There's a makers mark still partially visible. Please see photos for condition. Priced to sell. Thanks for your interest!
