    Description

    S199V, Remarkable offering...Locker contains 10 socket bayonets and steel scabbards, with leather and brass belt hooks and NGP brass rosettes. Again, 10 each US M1873 National Guard PA Infantry Co 45-70 caliber socket bayonets complete. This oak chest, cottage style corners, PA Dutch style décor, on lid carved engraving of the officers name; T.H. McNULTY CO E 1ST REG NGP. Fine example of field equipment for rifles during the Indian Wars. All 10 bayonets and scabbards in very good to better condition. Wooden box has steel handles at ends nicely engraved with floral patterns. Box measures 8.5" x 10.5" x 24.5". Lid is retained by two steel hinges. A steel lock mechanism for securing the lid shut comes with this ensemble, but it has loosened in the wood and has fallen off, easy attachment repair. All original, ship weight 28 pounds. Will likely have to be crated for shipping, unless a suitable oversized box can be "made", or you may come and pick it up in person.
