Description

This is a lock plate and hammer for a Springfield Trapdoor rifle used during the Indian Wars period. The absence of a date on the lock puts this one in the Model 1877 and later period. The lock is complete with hammer, main spring, tumbler, sear and screws. There are a couple of flaws in the lock by the SPRINGFIELD stamp. I'm not sure what caused them, but the pictures show them well. If you have a project trapdoor laying around this just might help you out!
