ORIGINAL AND SELDOM FOUND ARTILLERY BRIDLE MADE DURING THE INDIAN WAR BY ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL.THIS IS THE SAME PATTERN USED DURING THE CIVIL WAR WITH THE LARGE HEAVY "USA" ENTERTWINED ROSETTES AND ALL HORSESHOE SHAPE BUCKLES MADE OF IRON WITH THE BRASS PLATING ON THE OUTSIDE.
THIS IS A SUPERBLY PRESERVED SPECIMEN EXCEPT FOR THE BROKEN CURB BILLET ON ONE SIDE. AGAIN THE LEATHER IS LIVELY OVERALL EXCEPT FOR THE BOTTOM BILLET.
THE BROKEN PARTS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS SALE AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE CAN DUPLICATE AND RESTITCHED TO REPAIR THIS FINE HEADSTALL.
I HAVE INCLUDED MANY PICTURES TO SHOW HOW THE PIECES FIT TOGETHER. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE PARTS COULD BE SIMPLY GLUED BACK TOGETHER.

. If you are not absolutely pleased with an item you bought from us, we do offer a 30 day return policy and would ask that you notify us within 30 days if there is an issue with an item. If we have incorrectly described the item, we will pay for postage both ways. Otherwise postage cost will be the responsibility of the buyer. The items we sell are usually for static display and not to be used in the field today. We do not ever end auctions early. We ask that payment for a store or an auction purchase be made within 10 days of the transaction. After that we reserve the right to relist the item. We normally post feedback after we have received feedback from the buyer so that we know the item was received and the buyer is pleased with the transaction.
Shipping and handling:
The United States Postal Service is our shipper of choice. We will combined shipping cost for multiple purchases. We are in the Antique Militaria business and do not make money from shipping. We merely try to cover some of our basic costs.
International buyers, please note that all purchases are fully and correctly disclosed on Custom forms for the invoice amount. Be aware that to obtain insurance for an International package, which we encourage you to purchase, the package must be sent via Priority Mail which is much more expensive than First Class Mail
