Description
Vintage Rocky Mountain Pottery ROMCO "Grand Canyon" Planter BowlCirca 1950s
Stamped "GRAND CANYON" on the Base. No Other Discernible Markings.
This great piece of souvenir pottery was
made by the Rocky Mountain Pottery Company or ROMCO of Colorado. The company was started in 1953 by Leland Huston. Later in 1957 they moved to Loveland, Colorado It was sold two times in 1981 and 1986 where the first companies name was no longer used.
This is one of the companies first pottery designs - a faux wood grain style, with a glossy dark emerald green glaze on the inside. Originally it would have been pine scented but through the years the scent has gone away, as to be expected of an item that is around 65 years old!
VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ Very slight film/water line around the top interior of the bowl. Most likely could be removed with a proper cleaning. No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, or damage.
Measures approx.
9.5" L x 6" W x 2.25" H.
